As a creative thinker throughout my professional artistic career of 35 years I believe the power of conceptual visualization drives all creativity.

Making the complex appear simple is both an art and a science.

As a medical and scientific illustrator for 15 years and a designer of books and other publications in digital and print for 30 years, I bring a uniquely hybrid, experience-based skill set to projects.

In my illustrations one will recognize a proficiency of skills incorporating both the latest in digital applications with old-school traditional fine art.

Project collaboration requires the illustrator/designer be adept at understanding the subject at hand.

This requires problem solving - seeing through to the core idea, organizing and prioritizing details and being able to facilitate with clients and contributors.

I have had the honor to work with and learn from some of the most influential people in their fields of endeavor. My interests and on-going study and research in both the arts and sciences keeps my work fresh and authentic - as I continue to illustrate and contribute to theory, research and real-world applications within a universe of medical, scientific and manufacturing.

Medical and scientific illustration requires extreme precision because its primary purpose is to educate, inform, and guide in fields where accuracy directly impacts health, safety, and scientific understanding. Unlike purely artistic illustrations, these images serve as critical, often lifesaving, communication tools that must convey complex, technical information without ambiguity.

Working with an illustrator who is also highly skilled in publication editing, layout and design provides a comprehensive, subject knowledge-based approach to layout and design for journals, textbooks, and educational materials. Blending text with illustrative material including supportive auxiliary photographic and infographics data, such as xrays, ct scans, mri's and case study representations, into a contiguous document which ultimately will clearly and comprehensively communicate the subject is an art in itself.

Since 2001, I have collaborated with Dr. Dror Paley, innovator and preeminent world-class orthopedic surgeon, creating a library comprised of over 5,000 medical, surgical and technical illustrations which present step-by-step, complex surgical techniques for the treatment of congenital limb deformities in children. These illustrations have been published widely in academic journals and exhibited at international conferences and symposiums around the world. In 2024 we published CFD, a 440 page, full-color comprehensive atlas of Dr. Dror Paley's life's work in this field.

ART + MEDICINE, published in 2024 summarizes a brief history of how medical and scientific artists impacted medical professionals of their time. The 50 page full-color, hardcover book displays key illustrations related to congenital disorders of the upper and lower limbs by Pamela Boullier Ross. It is used as an adjunct for course study for international attendees of the Paley Clinic Congenital Limb Deficiencies & Deformities
